Good afternoon,

I am emailing to notify you of an emergency road closure that will be in place tomorrow from 09:30 until, at the very latest, 15:30.

This closure is to allow for urgent works to be carried out on the verges and carriageway between the A684 and the village of Finghall, following an inspection carried out by one of our Highways Officers.

A signed diversion route will be in place, and the village of Finghall itself is not within the extents of the closure. I have attached a plan showing the length of road that will be closed.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause; however, this is essential work which must be carried out.

A684 CONYERS LANE, CONSTABLE BURTON – BETWEEN JUNCTION WITH LEYBURN ROAD AND WILD HILL LANE/CHAPEL LANE – TO CARRY OUT DRAINAGE AND HIGHWAYS REPAIRS This letter is to inform you that Rainton Construction, on behalf of North Yorkshire Council, will be undertaking Drainage and Highways repair works at the above location. The works are currently programmed to commence on 24/11/2025 and will be carried out under a full road closure, 24 hours a day for a period of 11 weeks. Please note the works will be suspended from Friday 19th December to Monday 5th January for Christmas. A plan showing the extent of the works is enclosed for your information. Advance warning signage advising of the works will be installed on site shortly. Whilst the works are in progress, a fully signed diversion will be in place. On-site personnel will assist in managing access to properties and businesses within the closure. Please be aware this will only take place whilst the site is operational during the daytime. Please be advised there may be extended periods when access will not be possible due to the nature of the works and physical constraints of the site. Pedestrian access will not be maintained. Please note, this work is part of an extensive programme and therefore, some adjustment to this start date or the duration of the works may be necessary should unforeseen circumstances such as significant weather events or emergencies on the highway network arise. To ensure the delivery of these works we request your assistance in the following ways: • Please contact the Customer Service Centre on 0300 131 2 131, to identify any special access needs you may have prior to work commencing. • If applicable, please make arrangements to store your vehicle at an alternative location • Please co-operate and comply with any instructions issued by the traffic management operatives and take extra care whilst within the works area.
