Regrettably due to delays with resurfacing it will not now be possible to reopen the A684 at Conyers Lane, Constable Burton on the 25th March, as previously advised.  The road will now reopen on Friday morning and will then be under two-way traffics for a period of two weeks.

Please accept my sincere apologies for this further, but unavoidable delay.

PLANNED ROAD RESTRICTION NOTIFICATION - West Moor Lane - West Of Finghall

Location:  West Moor Lane  -  West Of Finghall

Description of works:  Temporary Road Closure in connection with Highway Maintenance works. It is anticipated that the road will be closed on 24 March 2026.

Regrettably despite working longer daily hours and weekends the contractor carrying these works has been unable to make up the time lost due to the severe weather conditions the Richmond area experienced for several weeks in the first part of 2026.  Unfortunately, this means that the road will not now reopen until Wednesday 25th March.

Every effort is being made to expedite these works as a priority, and the contractor will continue to work longer hours and extra days to achieve this.   North Yorkshire Council would like to apologise for the unavoidable further delay to this road closure and for any inconvenience this may be causing.

We are arranging for this update to be published via social media and will be asking that whilst the closure is in place we would request that drivers adhere to the official, signed, diversion route and avoid using the minor highway network through villages as these roads are experiencing significant damage due to unsuitable use.

PLANNED ROAD RESTRICTION NOTIFICATION - QB05873852516 - East Hauxwell Village Roads, East

Location:  East Hauxwell Village Roads, East Hauxwell CP, East Hauxwell

Description of works:  Road closure for Yorkshire Water to renew water main     

The Restriction will be in place for a period of 27 days between 11th March 2026 and 6th April 2026. 

Please note these are new dates for works which were due to be carried from 26th February 2026 until 6th March 2026. Delays on other parts of the scheme have meant that the dates for these works have been pushed back to start in March.
